On 26 January 2009 the Minister for Transport Noel Dempsey published a report he commissioned on Dublin Bus by Deloitte. He portrayed Dublin Bus as inefficient because we do not simplify the routes. When this was tried in the past the public objected and lobbied their local TDs, including Government ministers who ordered Dublin Bus to desist from doing so. The public do not want this type of simplified network. The elderly and disabled do not want to walk longer distances to a bus stop. They do not want to take two buses instead of one.
Here are some facts about your bus service from this report:
All proceeds of the event will go to the election fund for Bríd Smith, local candidate for the Ballyfermot/ Drimnagh Area.

As part of the ongoing campaign against the education cuts, teachers in Dublin North and North West will hold a protest outside the Finglas office of Government Chief Whip, Pat Carey T.D.
The protest has been organised by the Irish National Teachers Organisation (INTO) for Thursday April 2nd at 6.30pm, Pat Carey's Office in Finglas.
Speaking in advance of the event Niall Smyth, INTO Branch Organiser for Dublin City North said:
"Savage cuts in primary education are planned this year which will have huge implications for children and teachers in the Ballymun and Finglas area. Ireland will have the highest pupil teacher ratio in Europe; Special classes will be chopped in local schools and English language support will be slashed. Schools will lose vital grants and teachers in Ballymun and Finglas will lose their jobs. However, once again, it will be the pupils, in this already disadvantaged area, who will lose most once again."
