Poster Can Palestinians & Israelies Live In One State

Israeli historian and author, Illan Pappe, Palestinian novelist Ghada Kharmi and Jewish socialist and author, John Rose, will share their views on an alternative strategy to finally achieve peace between Israelis and Palestinians at a public meeting organised by the Irish Anti War Movement in February.

The public meeting at which these three articulate advocates of the “One-State” solution will speak is on Saturday February 20th at 2pm in the Gresham Hotel, O’Connell Street, Dublin

The horrific events in Gaza last year, which saw over 1,400 Palestinians killed, including more than 200 children, in a savage Israeli military assault, rightly shocked the world.

It provided a terrible reminder of the plight of the Palestinian people and the apparently endless conflict between Palestinians and the state of Israel.

A year on, despite a global public outcry, the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians has not moved one step closer to a peaceful resolution.

The Israeli siege of Gaza - preventing vital humanitarian and reconstruction aid reaching its suffering population - continues.

Protest to be held against killing
There will be a protest Tuesday, March 2 against last weeks Real IRA killing of Kieran Doherty at  5pm, Custom House Street.
Derry Trades Council are organising the rally for 5pm at Custom House Street and are urging the public to illustrate their "revulsion" to the brutal killing.
Secretary of Derry Trades Council, Liam Gallagher, said people should gather for the rally from 4.45pm onwards.
"The Irish Congress of Trade Unions have asked Derry Trades Council and all affiliated unions to condemn this killing in the strongest possible terms. The murder of Kieran Doherty represents a barbaric return to summary execution in which there was no compassion whatsoever shown.
"It appears increasingly, that there is a growing trend that these people have appointed themselves as judge, jury and executioners and it is incumbent upon everyone in this community, from all traditions, to let these people know they will not accept this kind of action."
